Move over Simon Cowell because when it comes to spotting talent, PHS has found its
own rising star in the form of the BTM Brass Band. And without having to resort
to a phone poll, PHS is putting its money where its mouth is by agreeing to sponsor
the band for a second year.
Following a successful twelve months for the BTM Band, UK workplace service provider PHS Group plc has
once again agreed to help fund the musical maestros. The
money will go some way towards costs for appearances at charity concerts and competitions
throughout the UK as well as subsidising a tuition program for local aspiring musicians.
Last year’s funding helped enable BTM , based near the PHS head office
in Caerphilly, to compete in events throughout Wales to earn the coveted title of
Champion Band of Wales 2007, an accolade that they are due to defend later in the
year. With a host of other awards under its belt, the only danger facing BTM is
the possibility that the band may soon have to spend more time polishing its silverware
than its brassware!

Jeff Hutcherson, Chairman of the BTM Band Society said, “Competition
for these awards is stiff and the sponsorship we have received from PHS means that
the band can concentrate on the music rather than the finances.”
Director of Group
Marketing for PHS, Stuart Price added, “We are delighted to be supporting the BTM
Brass Band once again. PHS and BTM share the same ethos of striving to be top in
their field whilst being mindful of the local community. We look forward to hearing
of their further successes.”
