Nosheen is originally from Rochdale near Manchester but moved to Cardiff this year
to study Medicine at Cardiff University. She started playing the cornet at St. Michaels
Primary School at the age of 9 and progressed to play in the intermediate brass
band at Rochdale Music Centre in 2001. Nosheen also been played the flute at the
music centre for a number of years before beginning cornet lessons.
At the age of 13 Nosheen joined the Rochdale Youth Brass Band and progressed onto
principal cornet where she played for the two years preceding her move to Cardiff.
Through Rochdale Music Centre, Nosheen has had privileged opportunities of travelling
throughout Europe, including 8 trips to Germany and 3 to Italy. She has also played
at Birmingham Symphony Hall, Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall, The Sage Centre Newcastle
and the Royal Festival Hall and Albert Hall in London.
Nosheen has previously played for the Wardle and Anderson Brass band and more recently
the Hebden Bridge band both on Flugel.
